Frequently Asked Questions

Broadway

    For Group Organizers

    Day Tours:

    Q) What time do the day tours start and what time do they end?
    A) A typical day tour starts at 9:00 AM and ends at approximately 5 PM. Group dinners in Manhattan are optional.

    Q) Is it OK to bring children on the day trips?
    A) Absolutely, although children under 12 years of age are not really appropriate for the trip called “I’ll take Manhattan”. This trip includes a Broadway Play, and cute crying young ones might only be cute to grandparents!

    Q) If my group does not want to take their individual cars, can you help us with a bus?
    A) Absolutely. We can arrange a bus from your city round trip. You pay the bus company directly. Taking a bus can be a lot of fun, plus you get to nap on the way home!

    Q) Do we need to make a deposit on a day trip?
    A) Day trips are all paid in advance.

    Q) How can we pay for the day tours? And when do we pay?
    A) Cash, American Express Travelers Check, Bank Check, or by using PayPal where all major credit cards can be used.

    Vacation Packages:

    Q) Must I I book the tours you have or can I pick and choose the items to suit my group?
    A) Absolutely! Call us and we’ll tailor make the trip for you, based upon your choices.

    Q) As a group organizer is it necessary to get deposits from my members?
    A) Yes, we use those deposits to secure discount pricing on hotels and entrance fees.

    Q) How large a deposit must one give?
    A) It depends on the trip. Typically the range is $150 per person up to $250 per person. After the initial deposit the group will have a schedule of payments as well as a schedule of allowable cancellations. (meaning refundable monies)

    Q) As a group organizer, am I at risk for losing money on behalf of my group?
    A) My suggestion is that you collect payment from each individual. With medium to large groups (10 - 21 persons) we always allow for a few cancellations/refunds.

    Q) Once we get to New York City, am I still “in charge” of my group?
    A) Absolutely not! Once you arrive in New York City, we take over completely. Think of yourself as another group member and simply enjoy the trip. Remember the old saying “You can relax and leave the driving to us”!

    General Questions:

    Q)What should I wear?
    A) Casual, casual and more casual. Comfortable shoes a must.

Q)During the spring, summer and fall seasons, Should I bring a lightweight jacket?
    A) Always...especially if you don't like highly air conditioned restaurants.

Q)What ages are good for your groups?
    A) All ages. However, most of our Sisterhood and Hadassah groups do not bring small children. If you choose a tour with a Broadway Play and you bring children under 12 years of age, you might want to think about a babysitter during the play, or pay for your trip less the price of the ticket/tickets and opt out of the play.

orchardQ) Will we have any free time and how will we know where to go?
    A) YES! On vacation packages you will always have free time. Our tour guides will have lots of suggestions for places to see, restaurants to go to, and places to shop. We always provide a list with directions on how to get there.
On day tours, leisure time is up to you. But you are paying for your day trip regardless of whether or not you choose to “do your own thing” and meet your group at the bus to go home...or any time in between.

    Q) Do you have Kosher tours?
    A) We offer both Kosher and Non-Kosher tours. Thank goodness New York City (home of the Jews) has a plethera of wonderful Kosher dining options. So this is never a problem!

    Q) Are your vacation packages good for Jewish people traveling from Europe?
    A) Yes, from English speaking countries.

    Q) Do you sell trip Insurance for your vacation programs?

    A) No, but many credit card companies can offer trip insurance. Or you can contact http://www.travelguard. com or call them at 1-800-454-7107.

    Q) On the vacation packages how will we get from the airport to the city and back?
    A) There are several ways. Often the hotels we use offer complimentary transfers round trip. If they do not and the group is arriving at the same time at the same airport, we charge for transfers and we meet the group at the airport for the escort to NYC and on the return trip. Your groups always have the option of taking a taxi directly outside the baggage claim area. Taxis to Manhattan from the airports are reasonably priced.

    Testimonial

“We had such a great time on the Big Apple Tour we did in June. I was amazed at how the Jews lived back then. And we had so much fun at Katz’s. The tour of the Eldridge Street synagogue was amazing, plus our tour guide was so knowledgeable. I really went off my diet, but it was worth it!”
